ABOUT LANCE GORDON

Lance Gordon is the founder and Managing Director of Pentagon Data and is in charge of course development and overall functioning of the business.

He has significant professional and educational experience (in chartered accounting and investment banking) and educational experience (including numerous professional training course and Masters & MBA university subjects). He is also a sought after speaker and has authored a range of content (please refer to the "Publications" section of the website for more detail).

His unique position of working with hundreds of clients in the corporate world and hundreds of students in the education space revealed the clear need for high quality financial analysis skills, prompting him to found Pentagon Data.

Professional Experience

Lance has a broad range of finance and accounting experience, including chartered accounting and investment banking (most recently at Credit Suisse).  He has worked with a wide and interesting range of clients, mandates and industries, with a particular focus on financial modelling and valuation. 

In his time as a chartered accountant, Lance gained experience in accounting, tax and auditing. In his time as an investment banker, Lance gained a range of corporate finance experience, including mergers & acquisitions, capital raisings, strategic reviews, valuations and financial modelling.

Financial Analysis and Financial Modelling Experience

Lance has built and reviewed thousands of spreadsheets and performed thousands of hours of financial analysis for small and very large transactions (including a multibillion dollar cross border fund raising for Foster’s, among many others). His intimate working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial models, together with his technical and commercial finance & accounting knowledge and experience provides a valuable combination of skills.
